A swan song of Blue Panorama Airlines
Today, 27th of October, Blue Panorama has announced to suspend all flights stating financial difficulties in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. Its commercial brand "Luke Air" is affected as well. Luke air's charter flight PRG-PUJ that was scheduled to depart on the 26th of October, was operated by LOT - Polish Airlines with Boeing 787 Dreamliner. Let us dig deeper into the company's history. The company was created in September 1998 and started operations later on the same year. It was a charter airline operating scheduled and charter flights to various domestic and international destinations. The company began with the fleet of Boeing 737CL series for short-haul flights, later it was replaced with B737NG Aircraft. But it was mostly known for its Boeing 767 long haul fleet. In October 2019, the decision was made to replace aging 767's with newer A330. The First Airbus A330-200 Aircraft was delivered a year later, following it, the last Boeing 767 was retired at the end of 2020. Recently the company has changed its commercial name to Luke Air and had a series of restructuring proceedings. Despite that COVID-19 played its role, and we hope that this operations suspension is only a temporary decision, despite experience in such cases showing otherwise.
